Transparent aligner for correcting the teeth

Detecting, treating and preventing misalignments

The aim of orthodontics is to detect, treat and prevent misalignments of the teeth and jaws. In addition to an aesthetically pleasing appearance, patients should also have a chewing system that is healthy and balanced in its function.

Depending on the patient's age there are different treatment methods - from a space maintainer in the milk dentition and fixed braces in the mixed dentition to almost invisible aligner therapy in adults.

Frequently Asked Questions

At what age should my child see an orthodontist?
A first appointment makes sense once the upper and lower front teeth have come through - usually between the ages of six and eight. If baby teeth are lost earlier, an appointment before that is worthwhile too.
Can teeth still be straightened as an adult?
Yes. What matters is not your age but healthy tooth-supporting tissue. We check this before treatment begins, among other things with an overview X-ray.
What types of braces are there?
Removable braces and space maintainers for baby and mixed dentition, fixed braces with bonded brackets for the permanent dentition, and removable transparent aligners, above all for adults.
Are there braces that are hardly visible?
Yes, transparent plastic aligners. They are custom-made for you, removable and very discreet in everyday life.
Is an X-ray needed before braces?
As a rule yes. An overview X-ray shows the position of all teeth, the change of dentition and the condition of the tooth-supporting tissue - that is the basis for planning.
