Three-dimensional implant planning on screen

Guided implantology: less invasive, less demanding

In guided implant placement we plan the procedure completely on the computer before it even begins. The result of this planning is transferred precisely into the mouth by means of an individually made template.

For you this means smaller incisions, shorter procedures and a predictable result.

Computer-assisted implant placement after a 3D examination

Following an examination with our digital volume tomograph, computer-assisted implant placement can be used. The position, angulation and depth of the implant are determined with the help of special planning software. Even before the procedure we have a clear picture of the condition of the bone, the position of the nerves and the final implant position.

The individual data from the digital volume tomography are used to create a virtual 3D model and a patient-specific plastic template. During the operation the planning is transferred to you via this template. In this way we place implants precisely in the intended positions. Patients usually experience guided implant placement as less invasive and less demanding.

3D implant diagnostics

Three-dimensional digital diagnostics support us in planning, in selecting a suitable implant design and in finding the optimal implant position. On the basis of digital planning we can also offer implants with a good prognosis in difficult bone situations.

The key facts at a glance

  • In guided implant placement the procedure is planned completely on the computer beforehand.
  • The basis is a scan with the digital volume tomograph, from which a virtual 3D model is created.
  • The position, inclination and depth of the implant are determined in planning software.
  • A patient-specific template transfers the planning precisely into the mouth during the operation.
  • Patients usually experience this approach as less invasive and less demanding.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does guided implant placement mean?
The procedure is planned in advance on the computer and transferred to the mouth using a precisely fitting surgical guide. This way the implant ends up exactly at the position determined beforehand.
What is the benefit for me as a patient?
Usually smaller incisions, a shorter procedure and a more predictable result – because the available bone, the course of the nerve and the implant position are already known before the operation.
Is a 3D X-ray required for this?
Yes. The planning is based on a cone beam computed tomography scan, from which a three-dimensional model of your jaw is created.
Does the planning also help when bone conditions are difficult?
Especially then. On the basis of the 3D data, implant design and position can be chosen so that a good prognosis exists even in difficult situations.
